New Yoga class at Rehoboth Massage and Alignment – Power Yoga
Based on Ashtanga Yoga, this challenging class incorporates Sun Salutations, standing postures, arm balances, core work. Also, seated series and inversions with a focus on the breath make part of this fun class. Students will build heat in the body while cultivating stamina, endurance and emphasizing personal growth in their practice.
John links asana and breath together in a seamless and continuous movement integrating creativity and fluid transitions. A fluid flow-joining standing balances, hip opening, and core work are the foundational postures in this practice. Vinyasa Yoga connects different types of poses, like a backbend with a standing pose, allowing them to intertwine without disrupting the smooth flow. The objective is this “flow“ effect which keeps this type of yoga flowing or moving, which in turn creates body heat.
Also, vinyasa activates qualities of fitness such as cardio and stamina, etc. This effect is similar to many western fitness exercises like running or aerobics.
